Home from Hospital Volunteer

We would like to hear from friendly, caring people in the High Peak and Northern Derbyshire Dales who would like to support people after a hospital stay or people who are at risk of being admitted to hospital.

A Home from Hospital volunteer will help to support vulnerable people who have no other support networks. Support is offered for a six week period, to help people to get home from their hospital stay more quickly, or prevent them from being admitted or re-admitted to hospital. You will help with day to day support like shopping, transport, or just providing company.

You can choose to volunteer on a weekly, fortnightly or ad-hoc basis. All volunteers receive training and on-going support from the Home from Hospital coordinator.  A Home from Hospital volunteer will also receive out of pocket expenses.

Home from Hospital is a service provided in association with Derbyshire County Council. Click here for more information.
