Our Trustees

As a charity we are governed and guided by our Board of Trustees. These are the people who lead the charity and decide how it is run, making key decisions about what we do. Our Trustees are all volunteers who give their time and considerable experience free of charge.

Meet our Board of Trustees

Tina Sullivan

Chair

Tina is the Matron of three hospitals with vast experience of personnel and asset management, along with coordinating external resources and networking.  Tina leads on safeguarding issues for our charity.

Rob Shaw

Treasurer

Rob is a semi-retired qualified accountant experienced in the public sector. His role includes reporting to the Board on the charity’s financial position and providing guidance on financial matters and budgets.

Alan Thompson

Trustee

Alan is a retired company director with a background in managing medium sized businesses. He first joined us as a volunteer driver, later joining our Board of Trustees.  Alan’s enthusiasm is a driving force for the charity.

Will Burton

Will is the retired MD of a private sector business services company and a former Mayor of Ely in Cambridgeshire.  He is a long standing supporter of the voluntary and community sector.  His knowledge and experience helps with the business development of our social enterprises.

Helen Hazelhurst

Helen is a busy mum and is a school governor and part-time lecturer.  She comes from a catering management background and has experience in business development, finance and fundraising.

Mike Starzec

Mike is a local businessman running a retail management software company.  His experience has proved invaluable in helping us with I.T. systems.

David Brindley

David is a retired Headmaster and Chair of Friends of Buxton Festival, David has been a Connex volunteer driver for a number of years.  He is also an active member of the local Lions Club and a prominent member of the local comunity.

Jon Wood

Jon is a retired solicitor based in the South Derbyshire Dales, and volunteers with the Crown Prosecution Service.  He is also an active Readycall Macmillan volunteer.  He brings his experience to help us with legal issues as well as providing overall guidance.

Christine Heyes

Christine is the Business Development Manager at the University of Derby, responsible for fostering links with business and with management of The Dome in Buxton, where she is based.  Her addition to the team strengthens our links with the University.
