Support Workers for Children and Young Adults – Tameside

We’re recruiting enthusiastic, reliable, experienced SUPPORT WORKERS to work for our service for children and young adults with an additional need or disability in Tameside. We are a small, caring, not-for-profit organisation, offering a range of working hours:

We are looking for people who drive, and can work flexibly in afternoons (after 3pm), evenings, early mornings (7-9am) and weekends. 10 – 16 hours a week after training.   You will be required to work at least 1 weekend in 2.

We provide full, paid training and a DBS will be required.

Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking people who are reliable and caring, with some previous experience of children / young people / additional needs / disabilities. Drivers with business insurance preferred.

Salary: £8.37 to £9.00 /hour

Manager – Connex Care & Support Service

based in Ashton under Lyne

27 hours/week

FTE Salary: £26,317
Actual salary: £19,204 (for 27 hours/week)

12 months’ contract, with possibility of extension


We are looking for a dynamic, well organised and caring person to oversee and grow our care service in Tameside.

The service provides support to parents and carers of a child with a disability, giving them some valuable respite time, and providing quality, responsive care for our young service users. Rated ‘GOOD’ by the Care Quality Commission, we want to increase the number of families we can support in the community.

You must have care management experience, skills in recruiting and developing staff and the ability to work with a range of health and social care professionals. You must be passionate about helping young people with a disability to reach their potential, and have a strong empathy with their families and carers.

Care and Support Workers – Older Adults

Would you like to make a real difference by improving the quality of life for older people wishing to remain in their own home?

If so, then why not join our Care and Support team?

We are a Domiciliary Care Agency with an excellent reputation, registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Derbyshire County Council as an approved Quality Premium Provider.  We are now looking for special people who are caring and dedicated to providing care and support for older people, helping them to maintain their dignity and promote independence.

 You will be required to assist with a variety of tasks, including

  • help in/out of bed,
  • personal care,
  • medication,
  • meal preparation,
  • domestic duties,
  • supporting clients out into the community.

Hours are on a structured rota system and are flexible based on a 3 week shift pattern including morning, evening and weekend work.

No experience is necessary as full training and mentoring will be provided, but you should have an empathy with older people.

Areas available to work in: Buxton, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge, New Mills and surrounding areas.  Own transport essential.

We offer:

  • Free Full Care Certificate Training programme with ongoing support
  • Hourly pay for all training completed
  • An opportunity to train towards Level 2 & 3 Health & Social Care Diploma
  • Pay £8.50/£8.75 per hour
  • Travel expenses including travel time between clients home + mileage rate of 36p per mile
  • Annual leave accrued on a pro-rata basis
