Connex Community Support is a Buxton based charity which helps people of all ages by providing a range of services. Our Children and Young Persons team are looking to recruit support workers.
We’re recruiting enthusiastic, reliable, experienced (preferred) Support Workers to work with children and adults with an additional need or disability in the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales area.
You will be promoting independence and supporting clients to lead a life that is as fulfilling as possible by enabling them to participate in social based activities and day to day tasks.
You will receive:
- A one-off Bonus of £200 on successful completion of 3 months service and a further one-off bonus of £200 on successful completion of 6 months service. (terms and conditions apply)
- Free Full Care Certificate Training programme with ongoing support
- Hourly pay for all training completed
- DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service Check) paid for by us
- Access to the Blue Light Card Scheme – paid for by us
As a CQC registered employer you will be responsible for completion of compliance paperwork whilst on shift and will receive full training and shadowing time. You will have regular supervisions with the office team who are based in Buxton.
We have various positions available throughout the High Peak and also in Bakewell in the Derbyshire Dales
Supported Living Support Worker (Chinley) (C&S BHSL)
We have 15 hour day shifts available and 8 hour sleep-in shifts (24 hours total) at a Supported Living House based in Chinley, working in our Care and Support Service. Working as part of a 2 week rota, the work is varied and a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to peoples lives. (Please note sleep in shifts are payable at 8.21 per hour).
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable candidates who feel they are able to care for others in their own home. Our clients may require assistance in a number of different ways, for example; personal care, administration of medication, moving & handling, social support, behaviour support and lots more!
We provide all training and mentoring so you don’t need to have previous experience in care (although any type of experience whether it’s work or personal of a caring nature is an advantage). The training is extensive and is paid for by us (you’re paid for your time too), along with your enhanced DBS, a Blue Light Card and a welcome bonus applicable to new starters (terms apply).
We are offering permanent positions.
The rate for this position is £11.53 per hour (with sleep in nights paying £8.21 per hour)

Support Worker Glossop (ref-CYPB-20HourSWG)
We are a small, caring, not-for-profit organisation, offering a range of working hours. We would like support workers to at least work one weekend a month. This position would include before and after school hours. This is a 20 hour contract but there will be additional hours offered.
The rate for this position is £11.44 to £12.84 per hour.
We are looking for people who have a driving licence and access to their own vehicle that you can use for the purposes of work. (Connex do not have pool vehicles)
Support Worker High Peak and North Derbyshire Dales (Bakewell) (ref-CYPB-20HourHPDD)
We are a small, caring, not-for-profit organisation, offering a range of working hours. We would like support workers to at least work one weekend a month. This position would include before and after school hours. This is a 20 hour contract but there will be additional hours offered. We can also offer Bank Support Worker positions for this area on a zero hours contract.
The rate for this position is £11.44 to £12.84 per hour.

Complex Care Worker (ref-CYPB – Complex Buxton)
We’re looking to recruit an enthusiastic, reliable Complex Care Worker to join a team and make a real difference.
You will be working with children and young adults with complex care needs in their own homes based in Tideswell, Buxton, Chapel and Glossop. Advanced levels of training is provided for staff including Moving & Handling, Suctioning and PEG.
We are a small, caring, not-for-profit organisation, so you will really feel part of a team.
We are offering a number of different shifts but will include 6.30am – 8.45am and 3.30pm-8pm
The rate of pay for this position is £12.84 per hour
We are looking for people who have a driving licence and access to their own vehicle that you can use for the purposes of work. (Connex do not have pool vehicles)
Support Worker (Bank) (ref-CYPB – BankSW)
We are a small, caring, not-for-profit organisation, offering a range of working hours. We would like support workers to at least work one weekend a month. This is a Zero Hours contract but we can usually offer from 10hour+ per week .
The rate for this position is £11.44 to £12.84 per hour.
