Care + Support – Children + Younger People

Care and Support – Children and Younger People assists children and adults with additional needs and has its office base in Buxton.

We use fully trained support workers to help deliver a range of different support services across the High Peak, North Derbyshire Dales and Chesterfield.

We offer a range of services

Specialist sitting service covers individual support in the home and in the community, and offers personal care to children or adults, delivered by our caring and professional team of support workers.

Group Activities provides our same high level of care whilst attending trips out to places like museums or theme parks. We also run activities such as arts and crafts, and baking. Please ask for our free Activity booklet, detailing what activities we can offer.

Positive structured activities to support volunteering  opportunities or structured activities such as horticulture, maintenance and general gardening with a view for service users to upskill, gain life skills and hopefully to gain employment.

Home Care – to provide in house support such as assisting with meal preparation, personal care, medication and shopping.

We also offer Supported Living.  We can provide support workers assisting service users 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to live independently in the community.

Please note: The Sibling Support Group has been suspended due to the funding coming to an end.

Our Sibling Support Group enables siblings of those with additional needs to attend an 8 weekly programme of activities. This is available for siblings aged 5-17 years. Sibling Support can be accessed by those living within the High Peak and North Derbyshire Dales

Please note: Our 1 to 1 Support, Group Support and Supported Living can currently be accessed for those living in Chesterfield, the High Peak and the North Derbyshire Dales.

Will it cost me anything?

Some of the services we provide do have a cost to access them.  Our 1 to 1 Support, Group Support and Supported Living services are chargeable services. It is advisable to contact Care and Support – Children and Younger People to find out what funding is available.

The Youth Club costs £6 per session. Before the first visit please contact us using the details below.

How do I get referred to Care and Support – Children and Younger People?

There are two ways you can be referred to us. You can self-refer or you can be referred by a professional for example a social worker, teacher or GP.

Would you like to help as an Enablement Support volunteer?

Care and Support is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).  In our latest inspection we were rated as GOOD in all five areas inspected. Click here to read our report.
