High Peak CVS Bereavement Support Group Volunteers

Could you spare a couple of hours every 2 weeks to help support one of our groups?

We are excited to be further developing our already successful National Lottery funded bereavement service. We need the help of some amazing volunteers to ensure we can offer the level of support that those attending the groups deserve.

Would you like to learn about therapeutic group work? This role could be suited to individuals with experience of the caring professions, or students studying social work, counselling… or We are equally interested in compassionate good listeners with more diverse career backgrounds. Can you hear about bereavement and not judge or feel the need to give advice?

Crucially we are looking for good listeners who do not judge or give advice, somebody keen to help create a safe space where people can explore and express their grief and begin to support each other.
Your own experience of grief will of course be relevant (not essential) as long as it has been some time ago. We would be very interested to hear from people who have a bit of regular time to help the facilitator support a group of peers to be there for each other. Just a couple of hours every two weeks and you will help make a big difference to people struggling with bereavement.

We are really looking forward to hearing from you about this rewarding volunteer opportunity. *Please note suitable volunteers will attend an interview and we will require up to date and relevant references.

For more details on the role please contact the Bereavement Team on 01663 735350 (Option 3) or bereavement@highpeakcvs.org.uk
