About Us

Connex Community Support is a charity dedicated to helping people in need.

We help older people, families, children and young people.  We help them live safer and more fulfilled lives within their communities.

We understand what people need and how to provide it.  Caring is at the heart of what we do and we respect the dignity of the people we support.

We help people to feel less isolated and to retain their independence, we work with people with disabilities and we support carers.

We help people to build skills and confidence through volunteering.

So, what do we do?

Our charity is embedded in our local communities, and we provide a comprehensive range of services to local people:

• We encourage people to get involved in their local communities, by providing information and support to volunteers .  We also help other charities and voluntary organisations, so they can find the volunteers they need.
• Our Care and Support services provide highly regarded care for older people at home and to adults and children with physical, sensory or learning disabilities.
• Over the years we have introduced other services to assist members of the public. These include Befriending,  and a volunteer-delivered Transport service, as well as our Home Maintenance and Property and Hoarding Clearance services.  Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service trust us to provide the Handy Van service in the north of the county, which helps ensure that people’s homes are safer and more secure.
• In the Derbyshire Dales, our Readycall service provides social contact and practical support to people affected by cancer or other life-limiting conditions.
