Thinking About Volunteering?

Volunteering is a great way to support your local community, meet new people, share your skills and make a difference to someone’s day.

Whether you have a few hours to spare each week or can help occasionally, there are a range of volunteering opportunities available across Connex services.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Befriending – Providing companionship and social connection through regular visits, outings and friendly conversations.
  • Transport – Helping people get to appointments, activities and other important destinations when they cannot access public transport.
  • Home from Hospital – Supporting people as they settle back into their homes after a hospital stay by helping with practical tasks and providing reassurance.
  • Readycall – Offering social contact and practical support to people living with life-limiting conditions.
  • Tea, Talk & Tech – Helping people build confidence with technology in a friendly and informal setting.

Why Volunteer?

We’ve heard from our volunteers that volunteering has helped them:

  • Meet new people
  • Feel connected to their community
  • Learn new skills
  • Use existing skills in a meaningful way
  • Give something back

Most importantly, volunteers help people stay connected, independent and supported within their communities.
