Art and Craft Group – event for over 65’s

Are you an arty person, or would you like to try? Why not join our Art and Craft Group – an event for over 65’s.  Meeting monthly on Fridays at our offices on 16 Eagle Parade, Buxton.  We try knitting, pottery, painting, colouring, felting and papercraft – or bring us your suggestions for a craft we can try!  Free of charge – just make a donation towards materials. Coffee Morning – event for over 65’s

Come and enjoy us for a Coffee Morning – an event for over 65’s.  A regular social group every Monday at the Lee Wood Hotel, from 10.30am to midday.  A chance to make new friends or meet up with old ones! We can provide transport to and from the venue for a cost of £4, or alternatively you can meet us there.  Bring some money for the cost of your tea, coffee and biscuits. Entertainment and Access Group – come and join our independent advisory group, in association with Buxton Opera House.  We will be looking at what barriers older people face when accessing entertainment.  We also suggest films for the Silver Screenings at Buxton Cinema, disabled access, older person’s Theatre Critics Circle and setting up a social club for over 65’s.  Help us to shape the future of entertainment for older people in the High Peak. Meet and Eat – social lunch club

If you’d like a meal out with good company, why not join our Meet and Eat group – a social lunch club for older people?  We visit a variety of places every fortnight, from pubs to cafes to garden centres and other visitor attractions, for a lovely lunch and a good chat! Older gentlemen enjoying a drink We will collect you from your door sometime soon after 11.30am, and take you home again after your meal.  There is a small £4 charge towards the transport, and you will need to bring money for your meal. Our Kind of Music – a monthly event bringing older people together to share music, fun, friendship and laughter.  Remember the music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s?  Then this event is for you! Clay Days – an event for unpaid carers

Are you an unpaid carer?  Would you like an activity for rest and relaxation?  We are running Clay Days – an event for unpaid carers.  Come along and try your hand at freeform pottery with a talented local potter, Olivia. Olivia will be working with us and hopefully we will be able to create some wonderful work.  This is a free group and we will provide refreshments, however, donations are welcome. New Age Kurling

We are introducing an indoor New Age Kurling group for over 65's which is played indoors. Why not come along and have a go?   Anyone can play regardless of physical ability.  Refreshments available. New Age Kurling is a form of the original curling game, but adapted so that it can be played indoors on any smooth, flat surface, such as a sports hall, rather than on ice.
